This is a company you can trust to do the work well at a fair price. We had a semi “emergency” when we noticed heat in our laundry room. Access to the dryer prohibited me from determining what was happening behind the unit. Urbana Dryer and Vent responded promptly to my call. The technician, James, moved the unit and discovered the exhaust hose had become disconnected from the wall due to a poor installation 3 years ago. He not only thoroughly cleaned the area and vent piping but fixed the problem by modifying the wall connection making it more secure than the simple tape connection done originally. The tape had failed due to the heat in the exhaust.

I had Urbana Dryer Vent Cleaning come out to clear two exhaust vents from our bathroom where a few birds decided to build a nest a few months back. The air exhaust flow was not great, so we decided to go with Urbana Vent Cleaning as they had excellent on-line reviews. We couldn't be more satisified! James kept us apprised of what he planned to do -- clean out vents, place a barrier screen for both vents, and clean up twig piles of twigs he extracted from both vents as well as provide a price for the services. James did an outstanding job during the entire job and I would highly recommend him and Urbana Dryer Vent Cleaning services!

Excellent experience with Urbana Dryer Vent Cleaning! Our transition duct burst open and was venting dust and moisture into the finished basement. Urbana DVC came the same day, replaced the duct with a more sturdy material, cleaned the clogged lint from the back of the dryer and made sure the vent outside was blowing properly. Very personable, efficient and honored the quoted price given during the phone consultation. James took before and after photos to show the dramatic improvement and I have eliminated the fear of a fire hazard from compacted lint sparked by the dryer heating element.

Wow, great service! I needed my dryer cleaned and the outside dryer vent replaced. Dennis explained what they would do and sent Don out. Got an appointment quickly due to a cancellation. Had the dryer vent cleaned at both my house and a relative's in the neighborhood. A very nice young man arrived right on time, he cleaned the vents and cleaned up after himself both indoors and out. And the price was reasonable. Both dryers are now drying beautifully. Could not give Urbana Dryer Vent enough stars. Dennis, owner, was fantastic. Called for a dryer that would not get hot. clogged vent vs heating element. He came prepared for everything. Diagnosed the issue quickly as a wiring issue. Easy to work with, helpful. Quick fix (and he had the needed parts) but did a full dryer service while he was there. Super friendly and helpful

We called for dryer vent service. Dennis was very friendly and said he would try to get someone out that afternoon. Sure enough James, our technician showed up and cleaned our dryer vent. He did a great job. We also had a problem with nesting birds in an exhaust vent. The next day James came back and cleaned the exhaust vent and put a cover over the vent to stop the problem from coming back. Very satisfied with Urbana Dryer Vent Cleaning company, would highly recommend.

After having another company come out and tell us that they would be unable to clean our dryer vent and that we’d have to pay an arm and a leg to replace our whole vent system we called Dennis.Dennis was able to come out the same day and in under an hour he was able to clean our vent and get our dryer working, he charged a very reasonable price as well.If you have dryer vent issues you need to call Dennis, I can’t recommend him enough!

Excellent experience with the 2 man crew from Urbana. Very knowledgeable, experienced and took the time to accurately diagnose dryer vent screen blockage at the roof and remove the screen. I've used Urbana Dryer Vent Cleaning twice now, once last year for a dryer vent cleaning and this year unexpectedly when my dryer vent hose became unattached to my ceiling. I really appreciated that Dennis was able to fit me in so quickly as other companies I tried contacting were booked for weeks. They were worth it. My dryer vent wasn't clean for at least 14 years, they sent James who cleared it completely and installed a cage over my home's lint vent. I just used the dryer, it now dries clothes completely after just one hour-long cycle. I highly recommend Urbana Dryer Vent Cleaning.

James and Brett just finished cleaning our dryer vent for our Condo unit. They arrived as scheduled and were friendly, organized and professional. They carefully moved and disconnected the dryer and thoroughly cleaned the vent pipe up and to the outside of the building. In addition they inspected and vaccumed the interior of the dryer itself for any lint accumulation. They carefully cleaned up the surrounding area and securely reattached the vent to the dryer. We will be using Urbana Dryer Vent Co. for all future cleanings, and referring them to all of our Conda neighbors.

Urbana Dryer Vent Cleaning is a great local company! We do our best to support local businesses. I highly recommend them if you need vents cleaned out. Don, the technician, is a super nice guy. He was friendly and professional. He cleaned out our fresh air intake vent on the 2nd story side of our home. He removed a birds nest and all the debris, disinfected the duct, and secured the protective wire grate. Back story: Our Ryan built home fresh air intake vent wire grate was not fastened to the house or the vent housing. It had just been placed in there. The birds pushed it aside and made a nest in the duct which leads into the utility room air intake. What a mess, not to mention health concern! A competitor was booking appointments 3 weeks out so I used Urbana Dryer Vent Cleaning. It was really easy to make an appointment online. The owner came he was very thorough. He helped answer questions for venting the dryer for a remodel, cleaned vent, installed a new tube, replaced a cheap plastic bird cage with a new metal one and told us how to clean and when. Follow up visits are discounted $50. Very impressed and happy!

We had a torn hole in our dryer vent hose and called Urbana Dryer Vent Cleaning. We received a very reasonable quote and scheduled for the next day. Dennis was extremely professional and kind through the entire process. He was not only thorough in his work, but also in explaining everything, including how we can do basic maintenance and monitoring to keep things working well and reduce fire hazards. 24 hours later, the issue has been fixed for a low price, I feel confident in the work and taking care of things moving forward, and know exactly who I will call next time I have another dryer need.

Dennis was great! On time and professional. We have had our vent cleaned before but never the inside of the dryer. Like that he gets up into the attic to check the connections and not just cleans the vent. The dryer is 9 years old and it is running just like the first day I got it. Dennis from Urbana Dryer Vent Cleaning just cleaned my dryer vent. He was awesome! He showed me where we were very close to having a fire in the dryer from the build up of lint near the motor. He took apart the dryer to get all the lint that was in the dryer parts inside. This lint can start a fire more easily than the lint in the vent. He showed me all the lint that he blasted outside and made sure a clog in the middle was evacuated as well. Then he made sure everything was working and vacuumed up before he left! Definitely would recommend this company to everyone! We are in Ellicott City.

This is a company you can trust to do the work well at a fair price. We had a semi “emergency” when we noticed heat in our laundry room. Access to the dryer prohibited me from determining what was happening behind the unit. Urbana Dryer and Vent responded promptly to my call. The technician, James, moved the unit and discovered the exhaust hose had become disconnected from the wall due to a poor installation 3 years ago. He not only thoroughly cleaned the area and vent piping but fixed the problem by modifying the wall connection making it more secure than the simple tape connection done originally. The tape had failed due to the heat in the exhaust.

I had Urbana Dryer Vent Cleaning come out to clear two exhaust vents from our bathroom where a few birds decided to build a nest a few months back. The air exhaust flow was not great, so we decided to go with Urbana Vent Cleaning as they had excellent on-line reviews. We couldn't be more satisified! James kept us apprised of what he planned to do -- clean out vents, place a barrier screen for both vents, and clean up twig piles of twigs he extracted from both vents as well as provide a price for the services. Excellent experience with Urbana Dryer Vent Cleaning! Our transition duct burst open and was venting dust and moisture into the finished basement. Urbana DVC came the same day, replaced the duct with a more sturdy material, cleaned the clogged lint from the back of the dryer and made sure the vent outside was blowing properly. Very personable, efficient and honored the quoted price given during the phone consultation. James took before and after photos to show the dramatic improvement and I have eliminated the fear of a fire hazard from compacted lint sparked by the dryer heating element.

We called for dryer vent service. Dennis was very friendly and said he would try to get someone out that afternoon. Sure enough James, our technician showed up and cleaned our dryer vent. He did a great job. We also had a problem with nesting birds in an exhaust vent. The next day James came back and cleaned the exhaust vent and put a cover over the vent to stop the problem from coming back. James and Brett just finished cleaning our dryer vent for our Condo unit. They arrived as scheduled and were friendly, organized and professional. They carefully moved and disconnected the dryer and thoroughly cleaned the vent pipe up and to the outside of the building. In addition they inspected and vaccumed the interior of the dryer itself for any lint accumulation. They carefully cleaned up the surrounding area and securely reattached the vent to the dryer. Back story: Our Ryan built home fresh air intake vent wire grate was not fastened to the house or the vent housing. It had just been placed in there. The birds pushed it aside and made a nest in the duct which leads into the utility room air intake. What a mess, not to mention health concern! A competitor was booking appointments 3 weeks out so I used Urbana Dryer Vent Cleaning. It was really easy to make an appointment online. The owner came he was very thorough. He helped answer questions for venting the dryer for a remodel, cleaned vent, installed a new tube, replaced a cheap plastic bird cage with a new metal one and told us how to clean and when. Dennis was great! On time and professional. We have had our vent cleaned before but never the inside of the dryer. Like that he gets up into the attic to check the connections and not just cleans the vent. The dryer is 9 years old and it is running just like the first day I got it. Dennis from Urbana Dryer Vent Cleaning just cleaned my dryer vent. He was awesome! He showed me where we were very close to having a fire in the dryer from the build up of lint near the motor. He took apart the dryer to get all the lint that was in the dryer parts inside. This lint can start a fire more easily than the lint in the vent. He showed me all the lint that he blasted outside and made sure a clog in the middle was evacuated as well. Then he made sure everything was working and vacuumed up before he left! Definitely would recommend this company to everyone! We are in Ellicott City.

This is a company you can trust to do the work well at a fair price. We had a semi “emergency” when we noticed heat in our laundry room. Access to the dryer prohibited me from determining what was happening behind the unit. Urbana Dryer and Vent responded promptly to my call. The technician, James, moved the unit and discovered the exhaust hose had become disconnected from the wall due to a poor installation 3 years ago. He not only thoroughly cleaned the area and vent piping but fixed the problem by modifying the wall connection making it more secure than the simple tape connection done originally. The tape had failed due to the heat in the exhaust.

I had Urbana Dryer Vent Cleaning come out to clear two exhaust vents from our bathroom where a few birds decided to build a nest a few months back. The air exhaust flow was not great, so we decided to go with Urbana Vent Cleaning as they had excellent on-line reviews. We couldn't be more satisified! James kept us apprised of what he planned to do -- clean out vents, place a barrier screen for both vents, and clean up twig piles of twigs he extracted from both vents as well as provide a price for the services. Excellent experience with Urbana Dryer Vent Cleaning! Our transition duct burst open and was venting dust and moisture into the finished basement. Urbana DVC came the same day, replaced the duct with a more sturdy material, cleaned the clogged lint from the back of the dryer and made sure the vent outside was blowing properly. Very personable, efficient and honored the quoted price given during the phone consultation. James took before and after photos to show the dramatic improvement and I have eliminated the fear of a fire hazard from compacted lint sparked by the dryer heating element.

We called for dryer vent service. Dennis was very friendly and said he would try to get someone out that afternoon. Sure enough James, our technician showed up and cleaned our dryer vent. He did a great job. We also had a problem with nesting birds in an exhaust vent. The next day James came back and cleaned the exhaust vent and put a cover over the vent to stop the problem from coming back. Very satisfied with Urbana Dryer Vent Cleaning company, would highly recommend.

James and Brett just finished cleaning our dryer vent for our Condo unit. They arrived as scheduled and were friendly, organized and professional. They carefully moved and disconnected the dryer and thoroughly cleaned the vent pipe up and to the outside of the building. In addition they inspected and vaccumed the interior of the dryer itself for any lint accumulation. They carefully cleaned up the surrounding area and securely reattached the vent to the dryer. He removed a birds nest and all the debris, disinfected the duct, and secured the protective wire grate. Back story: Our Ryan built home fresh air intake vent wire grate was not fastened to the house or the vent housing. It had just been placed in there. The birds pushed it aside and made a nest in the duct which leads into the utility room air intake. What a mess, not to mention health concern! A competitor was booking appointments 3 weeks out so I used Urbana Dryer Vent Cleaning. It was really easy to make an appointment online. The owner came he was very thorough. He helped answer questions for venting the dryer for a remodel, cleaned vent, installed a new tube, replaced a cheap plastic bird cage with a new metal one and told us how to clean and when. Like that he gets up into the attic to check the connections and not just cleans the vent. The dryer is 9 years old and it is running just like the first day I got it. Dennis from Urbana Dryer Vent Cleaning just cleaned my dryer vent. He was awesome! He showed me where we were very close to having a fire in the dryer from the build up of lint near the motor. He took apart the dryer to get all the lint that was in the dryer parts inside. This lint can start a fire more easily than the lint in the vent. He showed me all the lint that he blasted outside and made sure a clog in the middle was evacuated as well. Then he made sure everything was working and vacuumed up before he left! Dennis did a great job cleaning our dryer vent, which was almost completely blocked! He was able to stop by and clean it out just 1 day after I called. If you don't remember when you last had your dryer vent cleaned and notice your clothes are taking longer to dry, get him to come check it out - it can be a real fire hazard. Dennis is knowledgeable, professional, and very nice.

Really appreciate the great service. Showed up on time, and took the time to find the correct issue with the dryer vent, and it was not due to lint build up. Fixed the issue, for a very reasonable price (less than what was quoted since it took less effort!). Excellent service!

Why is it Important to Have Your Dryer Cleaned?
Dryers Are a Major Fire Risk in Your Home
A recent National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) fire statistical report found the following:
- In 2010-2014, U.S. fire departments responded to an estimated average of 15,970 home structure fires involving clothes dryers or washing machines each year.
- These fires caused annual averages of 13 civilian deaths, 444 civilian injuries, and $238 million in direct property damage.
- The vast majority of fires (92%) involved clothes dryers.

Dryer Vent Cleaning Alone, Doesn't Prevent Dryer Fires
- All the dryer fires we have seen have been caused by lint building up inside the dryer on and around the heater element.
- A basic dryer vent cleaning service does not actually eliminate the hazard of a dryer fire, it will only minimize the extent of the fire.

How Does Lint Build Up Inside the Dryer?
Lint builds up inside the dryer in two ways:
- Internal leakage – The seals around the lint trap and fan connections aren’t built to be perfectly airtight. Typically this leakage is minimal, however certain dryer models are known to be have leakage issues.
- Lint from behind the dryer gets sucked into the dryer – The dryer has intake vents on the back of the dryer. If there is lint leaking from the dryer exhaust, it will get sucked into the dryer intake vents. Over time it builds up inside the dryer, where it can eventually get ignited. Lint leakage behind the dryer occurs when the transition duct is damaged or improperly attached.

When Should You Have the Dryer Cleaned Internally?
We recommend having the dryer cleaned internally:
- Every 5 years: This will ensure that any normal internal lint leakage doesn’t accumulate to the point of becoming a fire hazard.
- If you notice a lot of lint leakage behind the dryer, especially if the intake vents are covered in lint.

Reduced Risk of Dryer Fires
This is an obvious benefit. If you remove the fuel (lint) from the ignition source (heater), your risk of a lint fire goes way down.
Improved Efficiency & Prevent Overheating
When we do our dryer cleaning service, we also clean the fan, lint trap and lint screen. The air has to flow through all these areas. If the fan is clogged, the dryer won’t blow well. If the lint screen is dirty or the lint trap is clogged, the air won’t flow through there well either. All these areas need to be clean to allow your dryer to run optimally. This will reduce drying times, save money on gas or electric and also prevent your dryer from overheating and potentially blowing thermal fuses or burning out a heater element.
