Internal Dryer Cleaning in Frederick, Maryland
Where Dryer Fires Actually Start
Dryer vent cleaning reduces fire risk—but it doesn’t eliminate it. Every dryer fire we’ve seen started inside the dryer itself, where lint accumulates on and around the heating element.
That lint gets there two ways: internal leakage past worn seals, and lint from behind the dryer getting sucked into the intake vents. Over time, it builds up where it can ignite. A clean vent won’t help if the fuel is already inside the dryer.
We disassemble dryers and clean the interior components—heater, blower fan, lint trap housing, motor, and intake vents. This is the service that actually prevents dryer fires.

Why Dryer Vent Cleaning Isn't Enough
According to the National Fire Protection Association, U.S. fire departments respond to nearly 16,000 home fires involving dryers each year. The vast majority are caused by lint buildup.
Most companies clean the vent and call it done. But the vent is just the exhaust path—the fire starts at the heater, inside the dryer. If lint has already accumulated there, a clean vent only limits how far the fire spreads. It doesn’t stop it from starting.
We got into this business in 2017 after multiple dryer fires hit Urbana in the same week. We still see them more often than you’d think. The pattern is always the same: lint packed around the heating element, not in the vent.
When You Need Internal Dryer Cleaning
Every 5 years as preventive maintenance. Even with tight seals and a properly connected vent, some lint accumulates inside over time.
Immediately if you see:
- Lint buildup behind your dryer
- Lint covering the intake vents on the back panel
- Burning smell when the dryer runs
- Dryer overheating or shutting off mid-cycle
- Scorch marks or discoloration inside the lint trap area
If your transition duct has been leaking—or you’re not sure when it was last checked—internal dryer cleaning is overdue.
What's Included in Our Dryer Cleaning Service
We fully disassemble your dryer and clean every component where lint accumulates:
Heater Assembly We remove lint from the heating element, heater housing, and the duct leading to the drum. This is where fires start—we make sure it’s clean.
Blower Fan A clogged blower can’t move air efficiently. We clean the fan blades and housing to restore proper airflow.
Lint Trap Housing Lint bypasses the screen and collects in the housing over time. We clear it out completely.
Motor and Vents We blow out the motor windings and clean the intake vents on the back of the dryer.
Lint Screen We wash the lint screen to remove residue from dryer sheets that restricts airflow.
Connections We inspect and repair any leaking connections while the dryer is apart.
When we’re done, we reassemble the dryer and verify everything works properly.
Benefits of Internal Dryer Cleaning
Reduced Fire Risk Remove the fuel from the ignition source. No lint on the heater means dramatically lower fire risk.
Faster Drying Clean airflow paths mean your dryer moves air the way it was designed to. Expect shorter cycles.
Lower Energy Bills A dryer that doesn’t have to fight restricted airflow uses less gas or electricity per load.
Prevent Expensive Repairs Overheating from restricted airflow blows thermal fuses and burns out heating elements. Internal cleaning prevents the conditions that cause these failures.
Extend Dryer Life A clean dryer runs cooler and lasts longer. Regular internal cleaning is the best maintenance you can do.
Combine with Dryer Vent Cleaning
Internal dryer cleaning and dryer vent cleaning work together. The vent handles exhaust; the dryer interior is where lint ignites. For complete fire prevention, you need both.
We can clean your dryer and vent on the same visit—and we recommend doing them together. If we find issues during cleaning, we can often handle dryer repairs on the spot.
Why Choose Us?
We’re the only company in the area that cleans dryers internally, repairs dryers, and cleans vents—and we’ve been doing all three since 2017. That combination matters, because dryer problems rarely have just one cause.
We’ve worked on dryers in homes across Frederick and Montgomery Counties, Northern Virginia, and D.C.—old homes, new construction, everything in between. We know which dryer models leak lint worse than others, which transition ducts fail, and what to look for inside a dryer that’s been running hot for years.
Unlike general appliance repair companies or jack-of-all-trades handymen, dryers and dryer vents are all we do. No carpets, no HVAC ducts, no refrigerators. Just dryers—and the vents connected to them. That focus means we’ve taken apart thousands of dryers and know exactly where lint hides and what causes fires.
Every service is guaranteed. We also offer discounts for seniors and veterans.
